John Dewitt Kuester Jr. begins his head coaching tenure with the 2009-10 Detroit Pistons franchise and has his work cut out for him. The 69th season of the Detroit Pistons will begin with two of its integral pieces gone. PF Rasheed Wallace left via free agency and signed a two year deal with the Boston Celtics and Antonio McDyess followed suite signing a one year deal with the San Antonio Spurs. To make up for the losses, the Pistons signed former NY Knicks PF Chris Wilcox to a long term deal and on August 7, 2009, resigned former Piston Ben Wallace to a one year deal.
